Utility Foreman

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Foreman to join our team. The Utility Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of utility workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems, including water, storm, electric and sewer. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in utility operations, a proven ability to lead teams effectively, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of utility workers, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
  • Plan and organize daily work schedules to meet project deadlines and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Perform hands-on work in utility system installation, maintenance, and repair as needed.
  • Train new team members on proper techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Monitor work quality and provide feedback and coaching to team members for continuous improvement.
  • Enforce safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in utility operations, with a strong understanding of water, gas, and sewer systems.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining utility tools and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Valid [Location] driver’s license with a clean driving record.
