Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grading and Utility Estimator to join our team. As a Grading and Utility Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs, materials, and labor required for various grading and utility projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our estimates are reliable and align with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and relevant documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for grading and utility projects.
  • Identify and quantify materials, equipment, and labor needed for projects.
  • Research and gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost projections.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs and breakdowns of project components for costing purposes.
  • Provide clear and concise explanations of the estimation process to project teams and clients when necessary.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and discussions, incorporating feedback as needed.
  • Monitor industry trends and cost fluctuations to maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with other estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
Qualifications:
  • [3] years of experience in grading and utility estimating or related field.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and project plans.
